Why might a business in NJ or DE be rated an "F"?

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Secretary of State status is usually the main driver of an F: if the status is inactive or unknown and there are no other active registrations, the rating defaults to F.

This is not automatic for all NJ or DE businesses — only those registered solely in those states with status unknown/inactive and no other state registrations.

NJ SOS: We reached a new agreement with the NJ SoS in September and are slowly backfilling status/standing for NJ registrations; coverage is still small but growing, so many NJ registrations will still return unknown for now.

DE SOS: We are actively working with the DE SOS to obtain SOS status. This is pending but remains a focus.
