Do you support polling instead of webhooks, and which do you recommend?

Yes. Every request object can be fetched by ID, so you can poll for completion instead of receiving webhooks: submit the search, then fetch until its state is COMPLETED or FAILED, then read the result by fetching the ID.

We recommend webhooks. Roughly 9 in 10 customers use them. They avoid polling load, deliver results the moment they are ready, and are the only way to learn about later changes such as a BusinessSearch.updated after an IRS retry or a monitoring change on a portfolio item.

Polling works well for low-volume or batch workflows where a delay of minutes is acceptable.
