Which states and territories are covered, and how often is registration data refreshed?

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Baselayer covers Secretary of State registrations in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Other US territories are not covered.

Refresh cadence. Each state publishes updates on its own schedule and we refresh as soon as the state does. Most states are refreshed daily, or weekly. Because of this, a registration filed or changed in the last few days may not appear yet for a small number of states. We can share a state-by-state refresh schedule on request.

What a refresh picks up. New registrations, status changes, name changes, and officer and address changes, exactly as the state publishes them. Baselayer reflects what the state record says at its most recent release; we do not modify it.

Two states with known limitations. Delaware publishes very limited status information, so most Delaware registrations show an unknown status. New Jersey status coverage is growing but not yet complete.

Every data provider faces this issue - they are limitations on the state registries and their data availability, not on Baselayer.
