How do I count a business’s registrations via the API?

Count the entries in the registrations array on the business. Each entry is one Secretary of State registration with its own ID, state, status, and details, so the length of the array is the number of registrations.

Each entry includes a two-letter state code, so you can also check whether the business is registered in a particular state. A business with one domestic registration and two foreign registrations will have three entries.
