How does the status page reflect IRS TIN matching outages?

The "TIN Matching" component on status.baselayer.com reflects the health of the IRS TIN matching service as we observe it from live searches.

• We continuously measure how many TIN checks are failing to get a response from the IRS.

• When failures cross a threshold, the component moves to Degraded Performance, Partial Outage, or Major Outage depending on severity.

• It returns to Operational once the IRS is responding normally again.

Because the status is based on observed results over a short window, there can be a delay of up to about 15 minutes between a change at the IRS and what the status page shows. You can subscribe to updates on the status page to be notified of changes.
