Which watchlists do you screen, and how often are they updated?

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Every business search screens the business and its officers against these lists by default. Each list can be disabled, or its match threshold adjusted, from the Settings tab on your profile page in the console. These lists are refreshed at the following cadence, and Baselayer always has the latest version:

  • OFAC: the US Treasury Specially Designated Nationals and consolidated sanctions lists. Refreshed daily.

  • Consolidated Screening List: the US Department of Commerce export-screening list, which aggregates entries from Commerce, State, and Treasury. Refreshed weekly.

  • Canadian sanctions: the Consolidated Canadian Autonomous Sanctions List. Refreshed weekly.

  • FBI Most Wanted: refreshed weekly.

  • OIG exclusions: the HHS Office of Inspector General List of Excluded Individuals and Entities, covering people and businesses barred from federal healthcare programs. Refreshed monthly (in line with the LEIE database updates)

  • PEP (politically exposed persons) is an optional add-on. Order it on a business search with the Order.Pep option, or screen a name directly with POST /pep/searches. Refreshed weekly.

You may also see an informational entry for the IRS Exempt Organizations list when a TIN-verified business is a registered non-profit. That is not a sanctions or exclusion hit.
