Lite vs. Enhanced profiles

Last updated: July 31, 2026

International Business Search comes in two profile tiers. Both return in the same normalized format; Enhanced simply adds more data where the registry provides it.

Lite profile

The core registration record, available for the widest set of countries:

  • Legal name

  • Registration / file number

  • Status

  • Legal form

  • Registered address and registering authority (where the registry provides them)

Use Lite to confirm a business exists, is registered, and is active. It's the default profile and it covers all the requirements for a basic KYB review.

Enhanced profile

Everything in Lite, plus the following where the registry files it in structured form:

  • Company officials / representatives: directors and officers

  • Shareholders: with holdings where available (Ireland and Germany, among others, have particularly good shareholder data)

  • Capital structure: share capital

  • Industry activity codes: the registry's NAICS/SIC-style activity code, where present

  • Beneficial owners (UBOs): the UK's Companies House data is a gold standard here (see the UBO article for the current country list)

Enhanced is requested per search with the Order.Enhanced option and costs additional credits that vary by country (see the pricing article).

Which countries have which

Lite is available for more countries than Enhanced, and within Enhanced the exact categories (officials, shareholders, UBOs) vary by registry. See the Coverage by country guides for the per-country and per-field breakdown.

Which should I use?

  • Lite: existence and status checks, basic KYB, high-volume screening, or markets where you only need core registration data.

  • Enhanced: when you need ownership and officer detail (e.g. UBO/KYB depth), in the countries that support it.
