Ownership data: shareholders & beneficial owners (UBOs)

Last updated: July 31, 2026

Where ownership data comes from

Ownership information is part of the Enhanced profile and is returned in the same API response as the rest of the business data, there's no separate call. When you request Order.Enhanced for a country that files ownership data, it comes back alongside the company details.

Which countries: check the shareholder coverage list

The best way to answer "do you have ownership data for country X?" is our shareholder coverage list: the set of countries where the Enhanced profile returns shareholder data. This is broader than UBO-specific coverage and is the right reference for both shareholder and beneficial-owner questions.

Shareholder data is currently available for these jurisdictions:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Denmark, Estonia, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Germany, Greece, Guadeloupe, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Martinique, Mayotte, Netherlands, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Réunion, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Singapore, United Kingdom, Wallis and Futuna.

Ireland and Germany, among others, have particularly good shareholder coverage. For the always-current list (and the exact fields per country), see the Enhanced profile coverage guide in this collection.

Shareholders vs. UBOs

Shareholders and UBOs are related but not identical. Shareholders are the registered holders of shares; UBOs are the individuals who ultimately own or control the business. The United Kingdom stands out for beneficial ownership specifically: its Companies House People-with-Significant-Control (PSC) register is a gold standard, returning full UBO records (name, nationality, country, address, date of birth, notified/ceased dates).
