How do I cancel or correct a filing after I have submitted it?

It depends on the status of the filing.

• Draft: edit freely or delete it. Nothing has been sent.

• Needs Attention: you can edit and resubmit at no extra charge, or cancel from the console or with POST /lien_submissions/{filing_id}/cancel. This is the only status where self-serve cancel is available.

• Requested, In Review, or Submitted: the filing is locked and cannot be edited or cancelled from your side. Contact us immediately with the filing link. If our team has not yet sent it to the state, or the state has not yet processed it, we will cancel it for you.

• Filed: the state has recorded it, so it cannot be cancelled. File a UCC-3 termination or amendment instead.

There is no automatic filing or termination. A filing only changes when you submit something.
