How do I get notified when a filing changes status?

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Subscribe to the LienFiling webhook events. Three are available:

  • LienFiling.created: a new filing was created.

  • LienFiling.updated: the filing’s status changed, or a UCC-3 action was applied (amendment, continuation, termination, or assignment).

  • LienFiling.deleted: a filing was deleted.

There is no separate "filed" event. To know when a filing reaches the state record, listen for LienFiling.updated and check the submission status in the payload for Filed. The payload has the same shape as the lien filing submission response, so the filing ID, status, filing number, and lapse date are all present.

Set up the endpoint in the console under the Webhooks tab, where the signing secret also appears.

If you would rather poll, the current status is always available from the filing itself in the console or via the API.

Status of each lien filing is always available in the Baselayer console, and Baselayer also sends regular emails throughout the lifecycle of a filing.
